At a certain point, the question becomes:

how do I live in a way that feels true to me?

For adults in midlife and beyond who feel pulled between what has been and what may be
seeking a more present, engaged, and meaningful way of living.

You may be managing your life well on the outside, yet something underneath feels unsettled or incomplete. Many people I work with have spent years caring for others and are now wanting something more their own. Together, we create space to explore what’s here with curiosity—building on the resilience you already have and allowing a deeper sense of ease, agency, and connection to emerge.

I want you to know that it’s possible to feel more at ease in yourself and your life. My work is grounded in humility, presence, and a deep respect for each person’s capacity for change. I support people in finding their way back to a sense of center, moving beyond patterns of adaptive survival and toward a more integrated and connected way of living.

Many people who come to work with me sense that including the body and nervous system in therapy is important. Some have tried traditional talk or behavioral approaches and are looking for something different. Others may feel stuck in familiar patterns, or unsettled by past or recent experiences, and want a way to work with what’s happening more directly.

In our work together, you can expect directness, focus, and attuned awareness, along with curiosity, compassion, and honest reflection. We pay attention to what’s happening on multiple levels of your experience, building on your strengths and resources. I integrate somatic mindfulness practices and psychobiological understanding as part of the process.

I offer a no-cost 15 minute online consultation if you’d like to see whether this feels like a good fit.

This work is not about fixing you, but about understanding what’s here and allowing something new to unfold.
Somatic Psychotherapy incorporates
the body and the mind
as an interconnected whole
in the therapy process.

Christina de Cossio is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT, specializing in Somatic Psychotherapy, and is based in Northern California. She is also a Master Therapist in the Neuro Affective Relational Model, NARM, approach.

Somatic Psychotherapy incorporates the body and the mind as an interconnected whole in the therapy process. NARM® integrates a body-centered and psychodynamic approach, within a context of interpersonal neurobiology, grounded in mindfulness and is a phenomenological approach to addressing identity and consciousness of Self.

Christina de Cossio helps young adults and adults who struggle with shame, self-acceptance, relationship conflict or loss, a sense of disassociation from the body, issues with love and sexuality, codependency, self-sabotage, and stress. She feels passionate about helping clients develop new skills and capacities so they can break through old patterns and identifications that are no longer serving them.

As both a psychotherapist and embodiment educator, Christina de Cossio also offers training in biological and psychological development, our survival system, and adaptive resilience in order to support people in broadening their understanding and perspective about the effects of stress and what they can do about it.

Christina strives to provide trauma informed and culturally-sensitive care, is an ally to people of color, and affirms the LGBTQ+ community. She welcomes you to reach out and looks forward to collaborating with you towards health and fulfillment.
